What if the need to control isn’t a character flaw — but a signal that a boundary is missing?
There’s a word most of us use without questioning it. A word that sounds like power, like stability, like leadership even. That word is control.
But look more closely. Hidden right there in the middle of the word is a troll. And that’s no coincidence.
The Troll in Con-trol
Control is the troll that guards the bridge. It creates limitations disguised as safety, rigidity dressed up as strength. It exhausts you. It shrinks your world. And no matter how tightly you hold on, it never quite works — because you cannot control what is not yours to control.
Control is always outward-facing. It’s the attempt to manage people, outcomes, and circumstances — to make the external world feel safe because something internally does not. You don’t need to control your world. You need to know your field.

Boundaries Don’t Cage You — They Free You
A boundary is not a wall. It’s not a rejection or a rule. A boundary is simply the edge of you — where you end and the world begins. It is the quiet, clear knowledge of what is yours and what is not. What you will carry and what you won’t. What aligns with you and what doesn’t.
When your boundaries are in place, you rest in your own field. You don’t need the world to behave a certain way to feel okay. You don’t need people to agree, perform, or show up perfectly — because your sense of self isn’t dependent on them. You are grounded in you. This is not distance. This is not coldness. This is sovereignty.
What Happens in Your Relationships
When you are not rooted in your own field, you leak energy. Those unguarded edges act like signals. And they don’t attract the whole, the steady, the aligned — they attract what matches the frequency of the leak: wounds, unresolved patterns, people who consciously or unconsciously find your weak spots and walk right in. Then you get triggered. And you wonder why it keeps happening. Why the same dynamic shows up wearing different faces.
It’s not bad luck. It’s resonance. When you try to control others, you’ve already left your own field. You’re out in their territory, trying to manage what they feel, do, say, decide — because their behaviour is activating something unresolved in you. The trigger is always pointing inward, back toward the missing boundary.
When you rest in your own electromagnetic field — you change what you broadcast.
And therefore, what you receive. Wholeness attracts wholeness. The right people — those who are rooted in themselves, who respect space, who meet you clearly — they recognise your field. They are drawn to it. Not by chance. By coherence.

What Happens in Your Business
The same law applies in business. Profoundly so. When you are not anchored in your own field, you take on every client who comes — even the ones who drain you. You say yes when you mean no. You over-explain, over-deliver, over-compensate. You shape-shift your offer to fit what others seem to want rather than standing clearly in what you’re here to do.
You attract people who enter through your leak — through your need for validation, your fear of scarcity, your wound around worthiness. And those client relationships confirm the wound rather than building the vision.
But when your boundaries are clear — when you know your work, your worth, your non-negotiables — something shifts. You stop chasing. You start calling in. Your clarity becomes a filter. The right clients, collaborators, and opportunities are drawn to the coherence of your field. They show up already aligned. This is not magic. This is energy working exactly as it should.

The Shift
So the question is never just “how do I let go of control?”
The deeper question is: Where is the boundary missing?
Because where you are trying to control — in your relationships, your business, your daily life — there is a place where you have stepped out of your own field. A place where something feels unsafe without the illusion of management. Go there. Not to fix it. But to reclaim it. Come back to your field. Feel the edges of yourself. Rest there. When you do, you won’t need the troll anymore.
You are not here to manage the world. You are here to inhabit yourself — fully, clearly, unapologetically. That is where your power lives. That is where the right things find you.
